David Szabó is a pianist, accompanist, piano teacher, from Budapest, Hungary. He graduated at the prestigious The Liszt Academy of Music in 2009, with distinction.
He was invited to join the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick in 2011, as the first piano student of MA Classical String Performance. He has been teaching piano on the BA Voice and Dance at the Irish World Academy since 2012.
David also teaches at the Munster Music Academy and Maoin Cheoil na Gaillimhe.
As a pianist and accompanist, he has played in the major cities of Hungary and Ireland with a wide variety of instrumentalists and singers. His latest performances were in Leipzig, Germany, in the Hochschule für Musik und Theater and in the St. Nicholas Cathedral, Galway.
For the past six years, David has organised charity concerts for the homeless in Hajdúnánás, Hungary, twice a year. Recently these concerts were also broadcast live by the local media.
David has won prizes at several national piano competitions, and accompanist competitions. He also won 1st prize in National Maths competition, Budapest, Hungary, and an international chess competition, Bratislava, Slovakia.
