The Of Our Times / Comhaimseartha weekly series of lunchtime concerts and afternoon seminars commenced in 1995 under the Toyota Performing Arts Initiative. Since then, countless musicians, dancers and academics have been welcomed to the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance to perform at these events, which are open to the public, free of charge.
Selected events are broadcast nationally on the RTÉ Lyric FM series ‘Seinn!’ and all performances are recorded for deposit in the Irish World Performing Arts Audio Visual Archive housed at the Brennan Glucksman Library at the University of Limerick.
Of Our Times / Comhaimseartha is organised by Jean Downey, Ferenç Szücs, Niall Keegan and Sandra Joyce. The overall co-ordinator is Ellen Byrne.
