Kevin O’Carroll is a graduate of the Schola Cantorum at St. Finian’s College, Mullingar. On returning home to Waterford he became Organist and Choirmaster at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity – a post he held for 15 years.
Kevin is a conducting teacher, choral consultant and workshop provider. He lectures for the Post-Graduate Diploma course in Choral Conducting at St. Patrick’s College (DCU) and for the Diploma in Church Music at NUI Maynooth. He is regular adjudicator of choral competitions and has conducted choirs from many countries including Ireland, USA, Estonia, Finland, Australia and Taiwan.
Kevin holds a Diploma in Choral Conducting from ABRSM, a B.A. (Hons.) in Music and Business Management and Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting performance. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Limerick where he is exploring the impact of modern music notation on the performance practice of Renaissance polyphony.
