On completion of a MA, Contemporary Dance Performance, University of Limerick (2003), Laura trained at Trinity Laban, London graduating in 2006. Subsequently, Laura established herself as a dance artist, performer, choreographer & teacher. As a professional dancer, Laura has worked with various independent choreographers and performed at leading events such as Biennale de Lyon. Laura’s choreographic work has been performed internationally to include the UK, New York, Canada, Latvia, Romania, Sweden & Iceland, along side various national venues.
As a dance artist, Laura’s work stems over a broad spectrum of artistic disciplines from graphic prints to dance films, movement installations to live performance. With a specialisation from Trinity Laban in Choreological Studies (2014), integrating clarity and communication in collaborations are at the forefront of Laura’s artistic ambitions. Recent collaborators include visual artists Gemma Riggs, Monique Besten; dance artist Rob Heaslip; graphic artist Laura Macaulay; musicians Tom Lane and Irene Buckley; photographer Lucy Nuzum and Clare Keogh.
Laura was recently selected for A European Mobility and Artistic Exchange Dance Programme, E-Motional Bodies and Cities (2012-1013), Cork City Council Artist Project Grant (2014) and as Cork’s Dancer in Residence at The Firkin Crane, Cork, Ireland (2012-2015).
Laura is currently the Course Director (Acting) of the MA Contemporary Dance Performance.
