Lucy Dawson is a Contemporary Dance Artist, Film Maker and Photographer from Keith in Scotland. She began her dance training at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance in Dundee, and then continued on to The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds, where she received her BPA in Contemporary Dance Performance.
After graduating in 2007, Lucy worked in London, and was involved in numerous diverse projects, ranging from music videos to adverts, dance pieces, plays, musicals, site specific projects and films.
She is currently in Limerick, having recently completed the MA Contemporary Dance Programme at The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, where she specialised in Dance Film and Photography.
She has been teaching for over 10 years, working for The Space, The Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Scottish Youth Dance, Urban Activities, Stagecoach, The East London Performers Academy, City Moves Dance Agency, various local councils and Dance Limerick before joining The University of Limerick.
Lucy’s main aim in her teaching is always to provide students with challenging, creative classes, and skills that will enable them to express their individuality.
