The Irish World Academy of Music and Dance has a wide range of Erasmus and international exchange partner institutions. Some are specialising on folk and traditional music and song, while others are focusing on contemporary dance, voice training or world music.

In the third year, normally in the sixth semester, students can optionally apply to add study abroad to their BA degree path. Application and nominations take place in the third and fourth semesters (depending on destination) through the UL International Exchange office that handles both Erasmus (European) and International exchanges. Students should discuss with their BA stream coordinator their best options and then apply to be nominated through the Irish World Academy Erasmus Academic coordinator.
