I Have A Tribe

I Have A Tribe is led by Patrick O’Laoghaire. The songs begin with the piano and the voice and they move into various directions and shapes, sometimes definite and sometimes improvised. Central to live performances is honesty, communication, vulnerability and strength. Most recently Patrick joined various artists of the PEOPLE collective Berlin, collaborating with Beirut, This is The Kit, and Howard Bilerman. Following on from this was support duty for Lisa Hannigan & The Stargaze Orchestra at the National Concert Hall. Previous performances include Other Voices, La Blogotheque Festival and CCI Centre Paris, Reeperbahn Festival Hamburg and CMJ New York. Patrick’s music is too unique to be pigeonholed. The dreamy and extremely placid Dubliner has, with producer Rob Ellis, managed to realise the sound he envisioned. Ellis helped him transfer his colour palette to the recording. With references that include PJ Harvey and Scott Walker, Ellis was the perfect candidate for the job: with the help of Conor O’Brien of Villagers – for whom I Have A Tribe has already had the pleasure of opening for several times – they have recorded some great tracks.
