LOGO SEMINAR SERIES- Post-Doctoral Pathways
April 16, 2020 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Presenters: Matthew Noone and Mel Mercier
Abstract:
The Irish World Academy’s TDCE Postgraduate Forum invites you to join our LOGOS seminar on post-doctoral pathways, which will take place via Skype for Business this Thursday from 10.00 to 12.00. A post-doctoral fellowship is one of many possible career pathways to select after completing a doctoral dissertation project, whether it seeks to further develop certain aspects of one’s doctoral research or to transform a PhD thesis into a monograph. Drawing from the expertise of this week’s invited guest speakers, current IRC Post-Doctoral Fellow, Dr Matthew Noone, and Prof. Mel Mercier, this virtual Q&A seminar session provides insights into potential post-doctoral pathways and funding opportunities. In particular, we will focus on aspects such as the development of project proposals, funding applications, as well as experiences in the research and project development/mentorship process.
Please note, to whom it applies – this and all Logos seminars can count towards colloquium participation.
A conference call will be held via Skype for Business, starting at 10:00 am, on Thursday, April 16th. If you are interested in joining this meeting, please email ciara.thompson@ul.ie for access.
**Please be advised that while you have access to Skype for Business through the university, if you have not used this platform before, it would be advisable to join the meeting in advance of the seminar, at which point you will be prompted to download the application. After doing so, you should be able to join the meeting without issue. If you do have issues getting into the call, please contactfelix.morgenstern@ul.ie or ciara.thompson@ul.ie, and we will be happy to help.
Admission is free, and all are welcome.
