Logos Seminar- Mask and Art Pedagogy Symposium – Keynote Address

This keynote address forms part of a symposium on Mask and Arts Pedagogy, which explores the use of mask as a tool across a wide range of disciplines, including theatre, dance and circus arts. This symposium is organised by Simon Thompson and Dr Niamh NicGhabhann.

Olly Crick is a UK based Mask and Commedia dell’Arte enthusiast, having performed with Unfortunati between 1984 and 1988, and then running his own company The Fabulous Old Spot Theatre Company between 2004 and 2011. He also ran an inter-college Commedia touring program based at Hereford Art College between 1998 and 2004. He co-authored Commedia dell’Arte, a Handbook for Troupes with John Rudlin (2001) and co-edited The Routledge Companion to Commedia dell’Arte (2014). He is currently completing a PhD at Edge Hill University (UK) in Commedia dell’Arte dramaturgy.
