Music Therapy in Maternity Care by Dr Joanne Lowey

This live webinar will provide an overview of best international practice and research on the role of music therapy in maternity care. It will focus on the various applications of music therapy to support the health and wellbeing of parents and infants within this setting. Our keynote presentation will be delivered by Dr Joanne Loewy, Director of the Louis Armstrong Centre for Music and Medicine (New York) and Associate Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She is the principal researcher of an innovative music therapy protocol for premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit called First Sounds: Rhythm, Breath & Lullaby and Co-Editor in Chief of the international peer-reviewed journal Music and Medicine.
Continuous Professional Development approval has been granted for this event. 2 CPD Credits (External CPD Category)will be awarded to attending members of the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (RCPI), with 1.5 CEU points (Category 1 Accreditation) awarded to members of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
