
PhD Arts Practice Performance: Claire Watts

Singer-Songwriter and Irish traditional musician Claire Watts,
a fourth year PhD Arts Practice Student at the Irish World
Academy, presents her second PhD performance. The title of
Claire’s research is: ‘So How Does it Feel to Sing Home: An Arts
Practice Exploration into Place, Space and Identity within Irish
Songwriting Practice’.
Her second performance will feature songs and music created as
a response to the themes of place, space and identity. Following
the performance there will be a round table Q&A session where
Claire will interact with the audience, allowing discussion, and
seeking feedback on the performance.
