PhD Arts Practice Performance-Siobhán Manson

The students of the BA Irish Dance and MA Irish Dance Performance programmes will showcase the solo and ensemble choreographies they have worked on during the year. This will be followed by “Dancing the Feminist – An Arts Practice Investigation of Women in Irish Step Dance”. In this performance Siobhán Manson will present her research findings to date exploring themes of performative gender, bodily knowledge and the shared human experience. Siobhán is currently undertaking IRC funded PhD Arts Practice research at the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance. An Irish dancer from Galway, she trained at the Hession school and went on to perform the principal role in Riverdance for over 15 years.
