Special Event: Modes of Capture Symposium 2023

Modes of Capture Symposium 2023 will take place on site at the Irish World Academy in partnership with Liz Roche Company. We are also excited to be partnering with Dance Limerick for some of our performance events this year. Co-curated by Dr Jenny Roche, Dr Róisín O’Gorman and Liz Roche, the symposium will be a forum for dialogue on capturing dancemaking processes, with a focus on approaches that encourage a deeper engagement with what we already know above the search for novelty and newness. Going deeper into our lived experience may support us to care more, imagine better systems, notice the interrelations and possibilities for change and exchange within the wider context of the current ecological, political and cultural crises we face. The two day event will be in person and include paper presentations, informal performances and workshops. There will be online offerings as part of the symposium.
