Steve Boyland and Dr Óscar Mascareñas

A presentation of solo and duo vocal and poetic works centered around ideas of Inter Arts research and practice. Steve Boyland is an improvising vocalist, performance artist and voice teacher of international stature. His reputation is founded on the eclecticism and intensity of his solo work, as well as a portfolio of acclaimed collaborations with international practitioners in the fields of music, visual art and dance.

Dr Óscar Mascareñas is a poet working in the fields of sound, movement and letters. He holds a PhD in Music and an MA in Chant and Ritual Song (University of Limerick, Ireland), as well as a BSc in Industrial Physics and Engineering (ITESM, Mexico). He has published work extensively in Europe, Africa and the Americas for the past 25 years. His research interests cover a wide range of subjects and disciplines, from poetry, composition and performance in contemporary practice, to early music, Zen and radical pedagogy. He lectures and re-searches in music and contemporary practice at the Irish World Academy, and works independently as a composer and performer internationally.
