March 22, 2018 at 1:15 pm - 2:00 pm

‘…therefore I am’ is a chamber work for violin, viola, double bass and saxophone. The work is the result of a two-month composition residency, undertaken in conjunction with the National Centre for Arts and Health and the Age-Related Healthcare Department of Tallaght Hospital, Dublin. The focus of the project is Dementia, both the condition and its treatment, and the resulting 6-movement musical work by Wilson is a series of reflections on the composer’s experiences and observations. The aim of the work was to illuminate the experience of the person with dementia through high quality creation of new art.

The musicians worked on the original project as part of a collaboration between the Irish Chamber Orchestra and Tallaght hospital, the first orchestra-in-residence in a hospital in Ireland.
