Tower Seminar Series – Social Singing, Health and Wellbeing: Current Practice, Insights and Reflection

This event will launch a special supplement of the Health
Promotion International journal, guest edited by Phelan,
Moss, Fahey, and Clift. The event is the culmination of a
year’s work bringing together leading writers on social
singing and cultural diversity. Each author will introduce
their unique contribution to the field followed by a
discussion chaired by Phelan. Contributions include the
wellbeing benefits of online Irish traditional singing
sessions during Covid 19; interdisciplinary insights from a
singing project for perinatal mental health in the Gambia;
an evaluation of training using singing as a tool for
community building in changing societies; songwriting
and singing with mothers and midwives in south-east
Queensland; and a review of singing interventions for
family carers of people living with dementia.
