The Masters Degree in Education (Music) is a one-year full time programme aimed at extending the Graduate Diploma in Education (Music) or equivalent programme to Masters level thereby continuing the commitment to excellence in the practical and academic teaching of music at post-primary level. The programme is designed specifically for secondary school music teachers. The Masters in Education (Music) is a joint programme of the Department of Education and Professional Studies, and the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
Objectives
The programme aims to produce research appropriate to a Masters level qualification, which contributes to the field of music education research, both nationally and internationally and to deepen students’ knowledge and awareness of the key issues in education
